The helicopter ball drop is another way we enable engaged people and organizations help us achieve our goals. We raise money for the Operation Peer Support Program of the Blinded Veterans Association(BVA). The BVA is an organization of blinded veterans helping blinded veterans. It is a non-profit federal Veterans Service Organization (VSO). The funds raised help support BVA service program, Operation Peer Support, which provides "connectedness" for visually impaired and war blinded veterans which leads to increased social contact, sense of belonging, sense of self-worth, and access to many sources of support. We hope to make life better for blinded veterans. We hope to make life better for blinded veterans.
The goal of our annual helicopter ball drop, golf tournament and continuing education program for optometrists is to keep the memory of Major Rob Soltes in our hearts and minds. By raising money for a charitable cause we can continue Rob’s desire to serve. Rob’s entire career in optometry was dedicated to providing the best care to his patients. He also was dedicated to serving our country and was forever loyal to his Alma mater, Norwich University.
With your help we can come to the aid of our recent war blinded veterans and students at Norwich in Rob’s honor. Rob’s charitable donations are going to the Blinded Veterans Association to aid veterans assistance programs such as Operation Peer Support (OPS) and further eye trauma research. Our efforts also support the Rob Soltes Memorial Scholarship at Norwich University.
You do not have to be present to win the helicopter ball drop. Purchase as many opportunities as you would like, if your ball drops from the helicopter and falls into the hole – you win & so will the veterans! The prize will be 10% of ticket sales (up to $2,500). Thank you for your support!
