Major Rob Soltes Memorial Golf Tournament

Supporting the Operation Peer Support Program of the BVA October 9th, 2017 at the Oak Creek Golf Club

How You Are Making a Difference

There are 5,000 men and women that have been affected by severe penetrating eye injuries, nearly 50,000 have enrolled in the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System with Traumatic Brain Injury visual system impairment and countless numbers whom have not yet identified a current visual impairment.

Since 2004, the Major Rob Soltes Memorial Golf Tournament has been raising money to support eye care services in the name of Dr. Rob Soltes who was the first U.S. Army Optometrist to be killed in action. In 2011 we began supporting the Operation Peer Support Program of the BVA and our support has grown every year. The following stories are examples of where the funds we raise are put into action to support our veterans.

Read this to learn more about how your donations enable the Blinded Veterans Association in the name of Rob.

Donate to Operation Peer Support

Operation Peer Support, Blinded Veterans Association

The Blinded Veterans Association (BVA) is an organization of blinded veterans helping blinded veterans. Through our service programs, regional groups, resources, and advocacy before the legislative and executive branches of government, we hope to make life better for blinded veterans. We also hope to be there with encouragement and support. There is no charge for any BVA service and membership is not a prerequisite to obtain help. All legally blinded veterans are also eligible for BVA’s assistance whether they become blind during or after active duty military service.

Rob's charitable donations are going to the Blinded Veterans Association. We raise money to aid various programs such as Operation Peer Support(OPS) and other programs that will help discover, develop, and promote research opportunities for vision restoration for all who have experienced vision loss due to trauma.

The BVA is a Charitable & Educational Non-Profit Organization (501c3), Federal Tax ID #530214281. For more information visit www.bva.org

Norwich University

Donations will also support Rob's alma mater, Norwich University.

The Class of 1990 Rob Soltes Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 by the classmates, friends and family of Dr. Charles Robert Soltes, killed in action in Iraq. The scholarship is awarded to a student in the Corps of Cadets.
